ExploraTour - Looking at the World in a Different Light
If you could see with infrared eyes, the world would look a lot different to you. You could tell how hot or cold your friends were without even asking, and see where they had been sitting before you came into the room by the heat that was left behind on the chair. Warm objects emit infrared radiation. This radiation is invisible to us but can be captured on sensitive films. The picture to the left is an image of the infrared radiation emitted by a sleeping person. You can see that the person's hands and feet are hotter than the rest of his body while he sleeps.
How do you know this? It's because his hands and feet are the brightest color (white).
