Exploratour - Volcanoes of the Solar System
Our tour of volcanoes in the solar system starts with the Earth. While we can't show every volcano in these pages, we will show examples of the different kinds of volcanoes found on the Earth, then move on to Venus Mars, Io, the Moon, & Mercury.
The purpose of this Exploratour is to introduce the reader to particular topics related to volcanoes. You are invited to leave the tour and explore these topics in more detail via links at the bottom of each page.
Pictured to the left is Mt. Vesuvius which last erupted in 1944. Mt. Vesuvius is an example of a strato-volcano.
