The Viking Age
Have you ever heard of the Vikings? They actually have a time period named after them -- the Viking Age. This was a time from 793 AD to 1066 AD when the Vikings from Scandinavia were really busy!
During the Viking Age, the Vikings explored and stayed in much of Europe, and parts of Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, and even North America.
Before the Viking Age, the people in Scandinavia settled in places near or on the coast. Many people think they went exploring because the climate changed.
