Will the Launch be Delayed?
News story originally written on April 10, 2000
The Space Shuttle Atlantis is supposed to lift off on April 24, 2000.
But there is a problem with the shuttle's rudder. The rudder is very important
for landing.
NASA hopes the rudder can be fixed while the shuttle is on the launch pad.
Otherwise, they will have to take the craft back to its hangar. That would
delay the launch until May!
NASA will know soon if the mission will be delayed. The mission is to
bring supplies and parts to the International Space Station.
