Mir, Mir--In the Sky...

...How long will he have to fly?
It looks like cosmonaut Sergei Avdeyev will get to spend an extra three
months on the Mir space station.
Russia is going to launch a Soyuz capsule in February. It can only hold
three people. Two foreign passengers and a Russian commander are going to
be launched. That doesn't leave any room for Avdeyev to come back.
Russia would bump one of the paying foreigners but they can't--they need
the money.
The United States
stopped going to Mir last
June. Russia plans on ended its trips to Mir soon. They are going to
focus on helping to build the International Space Station.
