''Not only does science affect society, but society affects science,'' notes ''Odyssey'' executive producer Thomas Friedman. ''Science is not outside human experience.''

If you think of all of the science advances that have been made in the last century it's mind-boggling! The making of the airplane, the theory of relativity, understanding Alzheimer's, the space race, the World Wide Web. These are just a few of the topics brought up in the journey through 20th century science presented by PBS in "Odyssey". The program runs January 11-15th from 8-10p.m. EST on PBS.

Sunday night's installment is called "Matters of Life and Death" and is on medical advancements this century. Monday night focuses on astronomy through the "Mysteries of the Universe". Tuesday brings "In Search of Ourselves", on psychology. Wednesday's focus is technology galore in "Bigger, Better, Faster". Finally Thursday is "Origins" which will look at the origins of Earth and the humans on it. Don't miss this wonderful program!
