This is a special week for space stations! The MIR space station fell from orbit on March 23, 2001. It fell into the
the Earth's atmosphere, breaking apart and burning up. So, the 15-year-old space station is gone.
Luckily, there is another space station still in orbit around Earth. Work on this space station is just getting started. Right now the 2nd crew is onboard the International Space Station (ISS). This crew and more crews in the future will do lots of science experiments on the ISS!
