Leonid Kizim
Leonid Kizim is a cosmonaut who was born on August 5, 1941, in the Ukraine.
Kizim became a cosmonaut in 1967. He has spent over 376 days in space on three
spaceflights. He has totalled 31 hours of spacewalks.
Kizim made his first spaceflight in 1980 aboard Soyuz T-3. During this mission,
Kizim made repairs to the Salyut 6 space station. In 1984, he stayed aboard the
Salyut 7 space station for eight months. The crew performed experiments in space
medicine, astronomy, and space manufacturing.
Kizim made his third spaceflight in 1986. He spent time aboard three different
spacecraft: Soyuz T-10, which he was launched upon; Salyut 7, the old space
station; and the new Mir space station, which he activated for use.
