William McArthur

William McArthur is an American astronaut who was born on July 26, 1951, in North Carolina. Before he became an astronaut, McArthur was an Army pilot.

McArthur became an astronaut in 1991. He has spent over 532 hours in space aboard two spaceflights.

In 1993, McArthur flew aboard STS-58. The crew performed several experiments in the life sciences. McArthur made his second flight aboard STS-74 in 1995. The shuttle docked with the Russian Mir Space Station for eight days.
