Vladimir Titov
Vladimir Titov is a cosmonaut who was born on January 1, 1947, in
Stretensk, Russia.
Titov became a cosmonaut in 1976. He has spent over 367 days in
space on two spaceflights.
In 1983, Titov flew aboard Soyuz T-8. The crew tried to dock with the Salyut 7
space station, but were unsuccessful. They returned to Earth after two days.
Titov made a second flight in 1987, aboard Soyuz TM-4. The spacecraft docked
with the Mir Space Station where Titov stayed for a year. This was the first
year-long space mission. Titov made three spacewalks during his stay.
