Discussion Among Scientists
Scientists are often portrayed as the silent type. Quite to the contrary, much of what we do involves discussion, such as this exchange between Robert Wood (University of Washington) and Jeff French (University of Wyoming).
When scientists share ideas, discussing how we measure properties of the atmosphere and interpret the measurements, new thinking can arise. Sometimes real breakthroughs can result, even from informal discussions like these.
