Sunset Drizzle
The Ronald Brown C-band radar has been observing drizzle over the past few days around the ship. Drizzle development is one of the phenomenon associated with the stratocumulus cloud deck of the Southeast Pacific that VOCALS is trying to better understand. The vast array of instruments on the ship allows us to observe the clouds and precipitation.
This photo shows drizzle near the horizon during a picturesque sunset.
