Poetry and Pictures - Weather

French painter Claude Monet painted the Field of Poppies in 1873. Monet’s style of painting is called Impressionism. In the sky above the pretty red poppies in this field are some low puffy cumulus clouds.

Today's Highlighted Poem

Sunrise
by Lucy, age 12, England

Oh summer days,
And summer nights,
Do not compare,
To my delights.
No field of red,
With grass so long,
Makes me feel,
Like I belong.
So look above,
When the day is new,
At all those loaded,
Piles of dew.
And I'll look down,
Look down at you,
Because flying high,
Is what I do.
