The Sun at solar min (left) and solar max (right) as seen in ultraviolet "light". This particular UV wavelength (19.5 nm) provides us with a "window" for viewing certain parts of the solar corona. It is emitted by ionized iron at a temperature of one-and-a-half million kelvins.
