Venus Faulting
This picture shows an example of folding and faulting on Venus. The different patterns of faulting provide evidence of the stress and strain, or pushing and shoving taking place by different parts of the surface.
Types of fracturing and faulting found on Venus are:
- wrinkle ridges
- small scale fracture zones
- strike/slipfaulting, of which the San Andreas Fault is a good example
- horst/graben faulting, or continental rifting
