ProSEDS May Tie-In to ISS Propulsion
News story originally written on January 28, 1999
NASA is going to build a Propulsive Small Expendable Deployer System, or
ProSEDS. ProSEDS will use Earth's
magnetic field to move
spacecraft instead of having to use fuel.
If ProSEDS works, NASA can use the system on the International Space
Station. It will save a lot of money that would have to be spent on fuel.
