Mercury
Mercury was the god of eloquence, games of chance,
commerce, and story telling, and was the messenger-god of
Jupiter. He was the offspring of
Jupiter and Jupiter's mistress Maia, who in turn
was the daughter of the titan Atlas and one of the Pleiades. Mercury was identified with the Greek god Hermes.
