People in the Atmospheric Sciences
Atmospheric science includes the study of the atmosphere, its processes, the effects other systems have on the atmosphere, and the effects of the atmosphere on these other systems. The people who study atmospheric sciences are called atmospheric scientists! Some of the common types of atmospheric scientists are listed below.
- Meteorologists study the weather and weather forecasting.
- Climatologists study the climate, including short and long-term atmospheric changes that define average climates and their change over time.
- Atmospheric chemists study chemical reactions in the atmosphere.
- Atmospheric physicists use physics to study the atmosphere.
- Planetary scientists study space weather and the atmospheres of the planets in the solar system.
There are many atmospheric scientists involved in CMMAP. The links below will introduce you to a few of the CMMAP scientists so you can learn more about what they do!
