News story originally written on April 14, 2000
The Hubble Space Telescope is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this month! It was first launched on April 24, 1990. The Hubble has studied thousands of objects over time and holds many space records.
The Hubble will continue its mission until 2020. At that point, the Next Generation Space Telescope will take over. Servicing missions have kept the Hubble in great shape! We look forward to many more years of Hubble pictures!
